Hines Ward of the Steelers is Honored w/the MVP

Steelers' Jerome Bettis hoists the Vince Lombardi trophy

Ladies, how could you not watch the game with all these damn hotties on the field?

The super bowl is well under way in the "Motor City". I wonder what The Motor City Hot Girl, Freaky Deaky, and the Serial Dater are doing up in Motown right about now?

I assume that everyone but me is at a super bowl party right now. I was not feeling quite like myself today so I just decided to stay home. The reason for my mood I'll save for another post.

I'm just chilling. I've cooked dinner which is BBQ chicken, got my clothes ready for work, and cleaned up, so I'm ready for the week. I swear, where does the weekend go?!?!?!

~Sigh~

After I cooked I got so sick to my stomach, like food poisoning sick. I was nauseated and you don't even wanna know that rest!

Super Bowl XL

Pittsburgh played in its sixth Super Bowl, but the first in a decade. Seattle on the other hand is made its Super Bowl debut. Unfortunately, controversial calls wiped out a Seahawks TD and allowed a Steelers TD to give Pittsburgh a 7-3 lead at the half. Damn that sucked!
Only one touch down during the entire first half of the game.

Of course, I’m routing for the underdawgs as always. I was hoping that the could do it but unfortunately they couldn't pull it off. The Steelers defeated the Seahawks, 21-10, to win the franchise's fifth Super Bowl ring.

Tell me, how did you feel about the Rolling Stones half time show?

Game Stuff
Entrants in a Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 Seattle Seahawks "12th Man" fan spirit contest sponsored by "The Bob Rivers Show" on Seattle-area radio station KZOK include a Seahawk haircut, upper left, from Doug Hill, of Tacoma, Wash., a Seahawk tooth crown, lower left, from Liane Earl in Tenino, Wash., and the painted belly of Angela Owens, of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., who is due to deliver a baby girl on Super Bowl Sunday Feb. 5, 2006.

Aretha Franklin and Dr. John, rear, perform the national anthem.

I must admit, this is the best that I have seen Aretha look in a while. Most of the photos of her have not been all that flattering lately.

Joss Stone performs with Stevie Wonder

John Legend performs with Stevie Wonder, left,

before the start of the Super Bowl XL football game.

India.Arie, center, and backup singers perform before the Super Bowl XL football game.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis stands on the field before the start of Super Bowl XL between the Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks.

He's got a cute thang happnin'!

Pittsburgh Steelers fans wear their team's black and gold in the stands before the start of the NFL's Super Bowl XL between the Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks fan Tim Froemke of Kelso, Wash., makes his way through the stands as his self-described character 'Seahulk'

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck -- He is a HOTTIE!!!

DAMN!

So after all is said and done, what did you think of the game? What about the commercials? To me the commercials don't seem nearly as funny and good as they used to be. I just loved watching all those hotties out there playing ball (smile)!

I'm glad that you are having fun! I'm at home with upset stomach :-(
ooooh, I like Matt hessle whatever. I have a thing for blonde hair and blue eyes. Did I tell you my other looks like Gunnar Nelson? The guy from the Nelsons and from Celebrity fit club? Yea, my other's a fucking hottie.

Anyway... back to your post. I have to admit I was happy that the Steelers won. SOMETHING in PA needs to win, it's about time. The Eagles wanna bitch and moan and point fingers, they sucked this year, simple as that. Our city needs to stop being cheap and be willing to pay for more than two star players. blah blah...

I dunno anything about anything else though, I didn't watch the game, couldn't care less. I had music to download and homework to do. Only one of which I got done, but I won't mention which...
what did india sing? i had to skip the superbowl
I purposefully didn't watch it! I am suprized all the radio stations were not talking about the commercials like they do every year, must not have been that good.
you know i almost forgot about the game. didn't see any of it, none of the preformances, none of the commericals, and none of the game! but i'm glad my team won!!!
I only saw the last 5 minutes of the game. After reading this post, I feel like I was there!

Not a fan of either team, but I was rooting for Jerome "The Bus" Bettis to win, so that he could retire on top. Not a pretty win and a lot of questionable calls, but hey, it was held in the Motor City, so what can you say! Congrats to Jerome, the Steelers and their fans on winning the Super Bowl!!!
Chocolate Drop (Dallas Cowgirl always)
the commercials weren't that great this year.. only ONE made me giggle (the sprint commercials w/ the 2 dudes in the locker room) the rest SUCKED!
The game wasn't very pretty but I got the results I wanted. Steelers won and the Bus retired on top and at home.

Didn't watch the half-time show. I'm not nor have I ever been a Rolling Stones fan. I wasn't feeling the Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville national anthem duet. It didn't sound right to me. Dare, I say it was disappointing and one of the most lackluster renditions of it I've ever heard.

I didn't care for any of the performers at the preshow either. I saved myself several hours of boredom by skipping the majority of it.

Most of the commercials weren't anything special at all. I'm glad my city got paid. I just hope the mayor and city council don't squander it on something stupid.

didnt watch it
Hey, girl!

I just love the Bus. He is ALWAYS well groomed and keeps that beard/jawthing he has going, very neat, because you know a brother who doesn't hit the neck and face up on a regular basis, well, you can go from groomed to grizzly in 60 seconds.

I'm not a big-guy (meaning SOLID in WEIGHT), loving kind of chick, but the Bus, well, I wanna take a ride.

Anyway, even though I was raised in Cali, a lesser known fact that the owner/operator of K-PAT fm, was born in Pittsburgh, so YAH for the steelers. Anyway, girl, I just saw your last blog, Imma bout to comment on dat!

I stayed at home watching the game. I don't like Super Bowl parties. Yah, I'm sure people are thinking "Well, you prolly wasn't invited to one". Nope not the issue. I barely like boxing parties, but superbowl parties, people are half watching the game, can't keep their pieholes shut so somebody else can watch it, looking for chips and dip, drinking too much, making a mess at somebody's house, text messaging, all day drama.

So, it's okay you stayed at home, mama, I did too.

Happy Monday, everyone!
Man that game..all I can say is I wish I was the ball girl. Cause all those men in one place would have caused me to go insane and I would love to run my fingers through Troy Polamalu's hair (number 43)....WOW can you imagine what it looks like wet..dang!!!! Hope you're feeling better
i watched the game for the most part. it was just SOOOOOOO BOOOOOOORING. but the brothas were fine, so that helped it a bit. i totally missed india.arie! i didn't know she was performing. DAMN.

and i agree with you. aretha hasn't looked that damn good since her appearance in the blues brothers movie.
I really like this mama!

I really liked looking at Jerome B:)
Mel no you didn’t tell me that. He’s a cutie to! If you are anything like me, I know which one got done …. The music, LOL.

Charles oooh I don’t know. I missed that part of the show.

LadyNay well they sure were talking about those commercials on the radio here!

Koolbreeze you certainly had better things to do on yesterday ;-) Happy Anniversary!

Luvin me if the only 5 mins you saw were the last 5 mins, that’s all you needed, LOL.

Chocolate Jerome is such a damn hottie. Even though was routing for the underdawg, I’m still glad for Jerome.

TTD yeah the commercials are no where near as funny as they used to be.

Freaky D I wasn't feeling the Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville national anthem duo either. I was like damn! I hope they don’t squander the money either, but you know how politicians can be.

Yazmar you ain’t miss a thing!

P I love the Bus too! Girl you got me LMAO @ "Well, you prolly wasn't invited to one". I was invited to one but I just was not in the mood last nite. Normally I would have gone.

Honey , you and me both are wishing we could be that ball! I’m not sure who Troy Polamalu is, but I’m about to look him up in 2 secs (smile).

Nikki , the game lost my attention of few times because of boredom to, but like you said the brothas were just so damn fine, I couldn’t help but watch anyway.

Ms Dee Dee thanks girlie. I loving Jerome to!
@Nicki-Polamalu is the Polynesian Brother on the Steelers with the long flowing hair coming out from under his helmet. He need a sista to hold him down and...braid his hair
:-o
I attended a SuperBowl party up here in PatriotsLand for the food and the men, but I did not really attend to watch the game. Yall can read about it on my blog, "39 Random Thoughts" dated Sunday 2/5.
I caught Stevie, Joss and John Legend during the pre-game, but I missed Aretha and my NOLA BabyDaddy Aaron Neville singing as I left for the party after Stevie sang.
Commercials: HATED the Dove self-esteem commercial that didnt have any little Black gurls on it. I guess they used two Black grown women in the lotion ad so that was it.
But otherwise, I had fun, drank too much, didnt have to work today, so I was happy.
Feel Better, Sweetie!
like P I was raised in cali but born in PA so my dad and rooted for The Steelers( we were in the er) I am glad for him that they won and don't trip there are alot of people who don't party on a sunday.
i really hate aaron neville -- with a passion. I know this is a few days old but I had to point that out.
