And I am so damn glad!
I can’t even tell you how happy I am that today is Friday and today is pay day for me – WOOHOO!!!
This is one of those months where we get 3 checks, so this is almost like unaccounted for money – cha ching!!!
What shall I buy, what shall I buy??
Hmmmf, listen to me talking about what should I buy. I know that the "Financially Sound" Single Mom would not agree.
Single Mom please give a sista some advice on what she could do with a couple of extra dollars, that would be financially responsible, maybe like 1/2 of my check!Please, before I blow it and have nothing to show for it (but perhaps some new clothes)!!!

Payday for me too today, but the end of the month check is always already spent.

It's a payday, three paycheck month for me too! But all the 'extra' had to go to bills...ok ok, and those cute jeans I picked up yesterday :D

First, thanks for the shout out! You are too much! About twice a year, I have those 3 pay period months too, so I know how good that feels. While every woman should splurge a little to look fab, it's all about balance.
If it were me, I would take 1/3 off the top and add it to my rainy day/emergency fund. Always, always, always pay yourself first...even BEFORE bills. Do you have a high yield savings account? I currently use ING Direct because they're running a promotional APY of 4.75% through mid April, then back to the standard 4%. With a referral, they'll give you a $25 account bonus if you open account with an initial deposit of $250. Email me if you need a referral (full disclosure: I will receive $10). After you open your account, you can also refer up to 25 people and earn an additional $250 ($10 x 25) yourself.
Ok, with all the boring stuff out the way. I would take another 1/3 and put it in what I call my fun money pot. I've had my eye on a new Dooney & Bourke bag from their latest spring collection and I'm determined to cop that mug by the end of April. You may want to consider this pot for your next trip to visit your sister. I know you'll be making that run a few times this summer, right? Traveling is expensive, especially with all the eating out when you're away from home, so you want to be prepared. Planning in advance enables you to spend with no worries, and most importantly, avoid unnecessary charges to your credit cards.
As for the remaining 1/3, this should be spent on whatever your little heart desires. You work hard and you deserve it! If it were me, I'd be at DSW and Nordy's before I could finish typing this response! LOL

I would save some in some type of bond or certificate or open another account to build on for a new car or house or something. Then I would buy my a couple of new spring outfits with shoes, get my pedicure and manicure and feel great this weekend with my guy..
