Question of the Day
Happy Friday!!!
Welcome to the first edition of the "Question of the Day" forum! Several days a week, a new question or scenario will be posted welcoming all of the reader's feedback. I hope that you will find this segment both entertaining as well as enlightening!
For today our question is:
'Other than cheating, what else would cause a relationship breakup for you?'
You'd think that I would know this right off the bat, but I honestly had to take a moment to think about this one. Cheating to me is that ultimate 'no-no' and I guess I never really put a lot of thought into it beyond that. But, let's see!
Theses are the things that would cause us to break up (in no particular order of importance):
1. If he told me he is GAY!
2. Him deciding that he is no longer going to work so that I can take care of him.
3. If he told me that he does not want to have children with me EVER! I don't have any now, but I would like to one day and if he does not want them as well, I know deep down that there is not a future for us.
4. If he developed some type of addiction (i.e. gambling, drugs) and not being willing to seek and follow through with treatment.
5. Being a compulsive liar....I can't STAND someone lying to me, especially my man. That just pisses me off sooooooooooo bad! I'm not saying if he lies once or twice; I'm talking about being a pathological liar.
6. If he started being violent towards me. I am not wit dat domestic violence shyt. Me and my 5 sisters would get together and WHOOP HIS AZZ, and then I'b be done with him!
7. If he started engaging in criminal activities. Look, I ain't gonna go to jail for my own mama, so I damn shole ain't gonna go for some foolish my man is involved with. No ma'am.....HE GOTZ 2 GO!!!!!
8. If he does not 'go down' and perform what I call 'lip service'. Call me shallow, but if he does not do that, I don't think we'll make it, LOL.

Next is repeat bad, bizarre or dangerous behavior in front of my friends or family. Dont show out, you will get shown out the door!

@ ChezNiki – Yes, cutting the fool in front of friends and family is a definite ‘no-no’. I’ll be so shame and embarrassed! You made me go add the violence to my list. I had forgotten about that one (smile)!
@ Ms Ann – I’m glad to see that so far everyone is pretty much in agreement for the most part, lol …..
I'm sittin here trying to think of some more.
If he didn't get along with the family I don't think it would work out to well.

He has no ambition - he has a job and he is satisfied with just that. Deal breaker.
He can not break away from his momma/family - all in our business.
Always saying momma said.....go to ya momma. (WOMEN stop raising your son to be your man as child and you won't have that she's stealing my man-baby ideology.
He is cheap - I won't spend all your chips, but don't ask me why I bought a 99 cent nail file, when I could wash the skin out of the old one. IF the lettuce is withering and has slime HELL NO we can't eat the other side - get a new head of lettuce and get out of my garbage that is not edible. Nic, don't ask!
and the finally, he says he has an itch that he can't explain in his drawers and I ain't itching!!! Good day - enjoy the joke!!!

@ MeSh--Another good point about the marriage thing! Being a mama's boy instead of Superstar Nic's boy has potential probs as well, lol.....As for your last 2 pts, hmmmmm, girl I won't een ask!!! LOL
My twin is dating a guy that has one child, she has one and they are thinking of getting married (even if they have only been dating for 2 months (roll eyes). hes been married before(baby mama is not the ex), she hasn't...and he says he doesn't want anymore kids...ever! she wants more. she seems to be fine with it although they have communication issues... but dammit why i got to hear every damn day how he doesn't want anymore kids! you the one puttin up with that. if a nicca told me he wanted to marry me but didn't want kids with me RED FLAG! "maybe hes just not that into you?" He SAID he decided a long time ago he only wanted one child... yeah right nicca... whatever!
oh oh i got one... just thought of my other sister...i can stand a man who wants to control my every move...dammit i'm grown leave me the hell alone!

@ Professor – I’m assuming that you mean that they have changed for the worse…. I would have to agree that sometimes change can cause people to grow apart. Once this starts its all downhill babee!
@ Schatzi – Welcome and thanks for visiting my site. I hope that you like it. Family is a HUGE priority for me to. I have five sisters so I think that some men may be uncomfortable with our closeness. But as long as he gives it a chance, he’d find that he’d be getting some fun-loving friends in addition to someone special to love. We are all crazy, down to earth gurls!

If he got addicted to something, I woudl try and help him out, if absolutely didn't want help, then that would be a problem.

I agree with who is above me, Supporting Bush, There's some things I can take, and some things I can't, that's one of them.
@ Meljoy – An open relationship, huh? I saw that you mentioned that on your yesterday and I was going to ask you about that because I wanted to make sure that I understood what you meant, but you’ve clarified it for me ;-) That is so interesting. I don’t know of anyone in a relationship like that. It seems like the main issue besides that ‘typical cheating’ is the domestic violence!
You know Nic I love you, because you're so fresh and like, whats the word I am looking for...like...creative and innovative, new ideas, they are cute...your blog definately stands out and I like that. It's not drab.
