Democrat Barack Obama wins the presidential election, CNN projects, setting him up to become the first African-American president. I never thought that I'd see the day. In my dreams I couldn't even imagine that I would see an African American president.

This is a day that I will be someday be able to tell my children about. I could just laugh, cry, dance, shout. I'm in total awe...

What a day. November 4, 2008. I'm sitting here waiting for President-elect Obama for take the stage at Grant Park in Chicago. Wait...here he comes. Gotta go!!

Police Confirm That Gun Found Was Murder Weapon in Hudson Family Murders; Memorial and Funeral Dates Set

Murder weapon confirmed by Chicago police

Police have confirmed through forensic testing that the gun they recovered Wednesday in North Lawndale is the weapon used to kill members of actress and singer Jennifer Hudson's family, a law enforcement source said today.

The .45-caliber Sig-Sauer semiautomatic pistol was recovered in the bushes of a vacant lot a block away from the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue where the suburban was found Monday morning. Police immediately had suspected the gun was a match because the unfired bullets in the gun matched the make and model of shell casings found at the murder scene, sources said.

The investigation continues as police try to tie their evidence to a suspect. Julia Hudson's estranged husband, William Balfour, remains in custody after being questioned in the case, but he has not been charged in the murders.

In this video, the mother of the CNN's Nancy Grace speaks to the mother of William Balfour, 'person of interest' in the Jennifer Hudson family murders. William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson (Jennifer's sister) and the nephew's stepfather, remains the primary suspect in the murders.

Then, as of this morning, there's evidence suggesting there may have been another person involved in the murder of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew, as reported onsTMZ.com. Investigators are going over William Balfour's movements after the killings on Chicago's South Side and are trying to determine if someone else drove the prime suspect to the West Side of town, where the body of 7-year-old Julian King was found. Witnesses have told cops they saw Balfour drive a teal Chrysler to the Hudsons' block on Friday morning (day of the murders), and that car was eventually found about a mile away from there. The SUV in which Julian was discovered ended up about 13 miles away from the Hudson house, but not too far away from Balfour’s house.

Now, Mr. Balfour was taken into custody at a girlfriend's home hours after the bodies were found on Friday. On the Nancy Grace video, his mother states that he was with one of his two girlfriend’s when the murders were committed, however sources say the girlfriend contradicted his alibi. Police say they’ve also caught him in at least one other lie. Fortunately, the police were able to track his whereabouts Friday through cell phone records, but this information has not been released. I’m wondering exactly where it is that they found out he was. Hmmm…

Also in the news today is a report that Balfour was busted this summer on a drug charge that could have put him behind bars, but the charge was dropped! His mother denies this in the video w/Nancy Grace. IF its true that he was recently busted the charges dropped, it is possible that this all could have been prevented by keeping him in jail. All of this equals a VERY BIG PROBLEM.

Actor and Comedian Bernie Mac dies at 50

The world became a little less funny today as actor and comedian Bernie Mac passed away at age 50.

He died Saturday morning in a Chicago-area hospital from complications due to pneumonia, according to his publicist, Danica Smith.

In 2005, it was revealed that the comedian suffered from sarcoidosis. His rep previously said Mac's sarcoidosis was not related to the pneumonia, which hospitalized the star last week.

Mac will always be remembered for the laughter he provided through his TV, movie and stand-up comedy career.

He was one of the original "Kings of Comedy," alongside Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer.

I want to extend my thoughts and prayers to his family and closest friends. He will soarly be missed, but I do believe that heaven just got alot funnier.

Rest in peace! We will miss you

New York abuzz about 'Montauk Monster'

'If this could be certified as the Suffolk version of the Loch Ness monster," County Executive Steve Levy said Wednesday, "we'd sell tickets and get a lot of revenue."

Levy was talking about the Montauk Monster, a fresh fable of a beast with the hue of a boiled lobster, the beak of a dinosaur and jaw crammed with pointy, white teeth.

Is it real? Or suburban legend?

Two locals swear it's real.

And swear that they saw -- and photographed -- the beast sometime after rough surf pitched it up to Ditch Plains beach on July 12.

"We were looking for a place to sit when we saw some people looking at something," Jenna Hewitt, 26, of Montauk, said Wednesday.

She and three friends, including Rachel Goldberg, 29, also of Montauk, walked over to see what was going on.

"We were kind of amazed," Hewitt said, "shocked and amazed."

She said she borrowed Goldberg's digital camera, aimed and fired off two shots.

"We didn't know what it was," she said. "We joked that maybe it was something from Plum Island."

It didn't take long for East Hampton to start buzzing about the reported find. Quickly, skeptics and believers alike offered up -- and continue to offer up -- myriad theories.

"We kept hearing it from everywhere," said Rick Murphy, editor of The Independent, an East Hampton newspaper.

"I'd pick up the phone and somebody would say, "It's a sea turtle without its shell," he said. "It's a dog; it's Satan; people can't stop talking about it."

On July 23, The Independent published a story by Kitty Merrill under the headline, "The Hound of Bonacville."

And a photograph, that editors decided to run in black and white, because the one in color is -- well, you look and decide.

"Flies cavorted upon the naked corpse," Merrill wrote.

"The once-robust figure, covered with soft and pettable fur, was, witnesses noted with dread, utterly absent its coat, save the occasional individual strand sticking out, as if it had been skinned by an evil tormentor."

By Tuesday, the beast -- now morphed into to full-fledged Internet viral monster, lumbered onto Gawker.com, under a headline bidding locals: GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR HELL DEMONS.

Hell demons?

In the Hamptons?

Larry Penny, the town's resource director, doesn't think so. (At least about the Montauk Monster.)

"It could be a dog," he said. "Or, looking at the picture, we thought it could be a raccoon that was skinned and has its upper jaw missing."

The elongated paws -- and the presence of trappers in the town -- led him to the conclusion, he said.

But William Wise, director of Stony Brook University's Living Marine Resources Institute, after looking at the photo and consulting with a fellow biologist (who knows land creatures), disagrees.

He knows what it isn't.

A raccoon. ("The legs appear to be too long in proportion to the body.")

A sea turtle. ("Sea turtles do not have teeth.")

A rodent. ("Rodents have two huge, curved incisor teeth in front of their mouths.")

He said the general body shape looks like a dog or other canine ("Coyote?"). But that the "prominent eye ridge and the feet" don't match.

He said the feet and face look "somewhat ovine" -- that would be like a sheep -- but sheep don't have sharp teeth.

Wise's best, educated guess: "A talented someone who got very creative with latex."

In other words, a fake -- which would place Wise with the skeptics. (Many of whom believe the image could have been manipulated with computer software.)

But Wise also offered what he called a next-best guess: "A dog or coyote that was diseased and has been in the sea for a while."

So which is it?

Something real? Something imagined? Without the body, no body can say.

And where's the Montauk Monster now?

Hewitt said she knows.

"A guy took it and put it in the woods in his backyard; he has a big backyard," she said. "The thing is rotting there."

But she wouldn't say who; wouldn't say where.

No matter.

The beastie's a legend now. Fodder for campfire tales, T-shirts and stuffed animals.

Snoop Dogg's wife arrested for DUI in S. Calif.

Police say the wife of rapper Snoop Dogg has been arrested in California's Orange County for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Fullerton police Lt. Craig Brower says officers stopped 32-year-old Shante (Shahn-taye) Broadus of Sherman Oaks about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and took her to jail. She was cited and then released pending a court appearance.

Brower says nobody else was in the car but he didn't have any other details.
Broadus and Snoop Dogg — whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr. — were married in 1997and have three children.

***Please note the phonetic spelling of Mrs. Snoop Dogg's name above...Shahn-taye, LOL. I'm also thinking to myself that damn she looks nothing like she does on the show in that mugshot. Hmmmmmm....

R. Kelly Acquitted

R. Kelly, born Robert Kelly,was arrested in Florida after an investigation of a videotape recorded between November 1997 and February, allegedly showed Kelly having sex with an under aged girl.

Kelly was acquitted of all charges Friday after less than a day of deliberations in his child pornography trial, ending a six-year ordeal for the R&B superstar.

Kelly dabbed his face with a handkerchief and hugged each of his four attorneys after the verdict — not guilty on all 14 counts — was read. The Grammy award-winning singer had faced 15 years in prison if convicted.

Minutes later, surrounded by bodyguards, he left the courthouse without comment. Dozens of fans screamed and cheered as he climbed into a waiting SUV.

"All I heard (from Kelly) while those 14 verdicts were being read was 'Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus,'" said Sam Adam Jr., one of his attorneys.

Prosecutors had argued that a video tape mailed to the Chicago Sun-Times in 2002 showed Kelly engaged in graphic sex acts with a girl as young as 13 at the time. Both Kelly, 41, and the now 23-year-old alleged victim had denied they were the ones on the tape. Neither testified during the trial.

--THE ALLEGED VICTIM, now 23, never appeared in court but was a main subject of testimony. Pictures of the one-time Christian pop-group singer when she was about 13 showed a smiling, cherub-faced girl. At around that age, she began describing Kelly as her "godfather," witnesses said. Kelly frequently gave her cash gifts, a childhood friend testified. Another prosecution witness claimed she had three-way sex with Kelly and the alleged victim. No one questions Kelly and the alleged victim knew each other. But both said it's not them on a sex tape at the center of the case.

"Robert said all along that he believed in our system and he believed in God — and that when all the facts came out in court, he would be cleared of these terrible charges," according to a statement from his publicist, Allen Mayer. "But he never dreamed it would take six and a half years. This has been a terrible ordeal for him and his family and at this point all he wants to do is move forward and put it behind him."

Top 10 ways to repair credit, boost score

When it comes to repairing your credit, you're the best person for the job.

Credit repair scam artists will charge you anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more upfront, and promise you everything from a new Social Security card to perfect credit.

But these companies can't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself -- for free -- and they might ultimately do more harm than good.

What should you do if you have bad credit? Here are 10 tips that are designed to improve your credit history and raise your credit score:

1. Pull a copy of your credit history from AnnualCreditReport.com. Sponsored by the three credit-reporting bureaus, Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, AnnualCreditReport.com is the only place you can go to get a truly free copy of your credit history. Each credit-reporting bureau is required to give you one copy once a year. You should pull copies from each of the bureaus, since they sometimes collect different data.

2. While you're there, buy a copy of your credit score from Equifax.com. Equifax offers a FICO score, also known as a Beacon score, which is from Fair Isaac, the company that created the concept of credit scoring. Most creditors will pull a FICO score, so you should see what they're seeing. Your credit score will give you a snapshot of what your credit information means to your creditors. The FICO score runs from 350 to 850. The higher the number, the better. Your target should be to have a credit score of at least 720.

3. Check your credit history thoroughly. You're looking for errors, misinformation and negative information that might count against you. File a dispute with the three credit-reporting bureaus if you spot any errors. Some credit reports have serious errors in them, so fixing these will boost your score.

4. Understand what kind of debt you're facing. Make a list of everything you owe, the interest rate each debt carries, and the minimum payment due each month. Then, prioritize your debt: mortgage, real estate taxes, credit cards and medical bills should be paid in that order.

5. Negotiate with your creditors for a lower interest rate. Paying less in interest means more of your payment each month goes toward paying down your balance. If you have a good credit score (over 720 is a starting point), you should be able to find other credit cards featuring zero percent to 5 percent in interest for the first year, or for the life of a balance transfer (check out sites like CardRatings.com and CardTrak.com to compare credit-card offers.) Just be sure you read the fine print: Some credit cards require you to charge on the new account each month or face a stiff fee.

6. Pay down the debt with the highest interest rate first. Pay your mortgage and home equity loan and lines of credit in full each month. Then, make sure you have enough cash to make all of the minimum payments due on your debt each month. Then, throw any spare cash at the debt that carries the highest interest rate first. Once you've paid down that debt, transfer all of the extra cash you're paying each month to the debt with the next-highest interest rate, and so on.

7. Pay everything on time, even if you can make only the minimum payment. The most crucial component of your credit history and credit score is your ability to pay your bills on time each month. Paying on time shows your creditors that you take your debts and obligations seriously. Even one late payment can seriously damage your credit history and credit score, even though it can take a year's worth of on-time payments to start to heal your credit history and raise your credit score. It doesn't seem fair, but that's how the credit industry works.

8. Don't charge more than 25 percent of your maximum available credit limit. If you carry a credit-card balance that is a higher percentage of your available credit limit, your credit score will go down. Why? Because creditors believe if you charge the maximum on your credit cards, it means you can't properly manage your credit. You're better off spreading out your debt between three or four different cards than having it all piled on one card.

9. Don't open and close a lot of accounts. Again, a credit score tells current and future creditors how likely it is that you won't pay back your debts. It assesses how risky a borrower you are today. Every time you apply for a new credit card, that creditor pulls a copy of your credit history from the credit-reporting bureaus. That "inquiry" gets reported on your credit history. Too many inquiries in a short period of time signals that you may be getting low on your available credit and need more cash. Even though you might be interested in getting 10 percent off your first purchase for opening a new account, it looks different to a prospective creditor.

10. Don't share credit (except with a spouse). It's easy to tell someone that you'll "co-sign" a credit card, student loan or a mortgage loan application, especially if it's someone you've known for a long time. Heath Ledger's death an accident says father

Actor Heath Ledger did not kill himself, according to his father.

Ledger was found dead in his Soho residence in New York City today.

Ledger's family, including father Kim and mother Sally and sister Kate spoke to reporters in Perth this afternoon.

"We, Heath's family can confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda," his father said.

"He was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper. He was down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving, unselfish, individual (and) extremely inspirational to many."

"We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their well wishes and kind thoughts at this time," Mr Ledger said.

"Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him."

Celebrity news website TMZ.com has reported Ledger was sick with pneumonia when he died.

New York police said they could not confirm Ledger was suffering from pneumonia.

"This is the first I'm hearing that," Lieutenant John Grimpal, from the New York Police Department, told Macquarie Radio.

"The medical examiner, once he or she conducts an autopsy, will determine exactly the cause of death."

Ledger was discovered naked and unconscious near his bed by a housekeeper at at 3.35pm (9.35am NZT) when a masseuse arrived for a scheduled appointment.

TMZ reports the actor was in full cardiac arrest by the time emergency services arrived at the apartment. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed sleeping pills - both prescription medication and nonprescription were found near Ledger's bed in the apartment.

Michelle Williams, Ledger's former fiancee and mother of their two-year-old daughter Matilda, is reportedly devastated to hear of his death. She is believed to be on her way to New York.

A police spokesman initially told media that the apartment Ledger was found in was owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, but later retracted his statement and said that was not the case.

Rapper Pimp C Found Dead at 33

Pimp C, born Chad Butler, one-half of the veteran Houston rap group UGK, was found dead in the upscale Mondrian hotel on Tuesday. The hotel was a longtime music-industry hangout. He was 33. Pimp C is survived by a wife and three children.

The Captain of the Los Angeles County coroner's office said Pimp C had apparently died while in bed in his hotel room. Everyone I talked to about it today has been speculating about the cause of death. They have reported that no foul play was involved but that’s about it other than the usual statements about waiting on the autopsy.

Together with Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, Pimp Cs friend since they were in junior high, started UGK, short for Underground Kingz. Bun and Pimp C were pioneers of Southern (Dirty South) Rap, and hit the mainstream with their appearance on Jay-Z's smash "Big Pimpin'" and Three 6 Mafia "Sippin' On Some Sizzurp". Their latest CD included the hit "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)," featuring OutKast.

The rap duo's career was derailed when Pimp C was jailed for three years in 2002 on gun charges. But he got as much exposure as ever, as the "Free Pimp C" slogan spread.

Though they never enjoyed the pop-chart success of some other rappers, they were truly favorites of mine. When I first heard the news, I was hoping that it was another one of those rumors that people love to spread about entertainers. When I found out it was true, my heart sunk.

Mannie Fresh's Sister Reportedly Murdered

Mannie Fresh's sister, Angela Bryant, was shot and killed Wednesday night in her New Orleans home, according to local TV affiliate WWLTV. Police reportedly said the 42-year-old mother's two young children were present but not physically harmed.

Authorities said Bryant, whose body was discovered early Thursday morning, was murdered between 10 p.m. and midnight, according to WWLTV. Her black 1998 Lexus LS 400 reportedly went missing after the murder.

Bryant's husband, who had been out of town when his wife was killed, arrived at the house before noon and was distraught, according to the WWLTV report. The couple got married last month, and Bryant celebrated her birthday with family on Wednesday night, WWLTV said. Police reportedly did not elaborate on the conditions of the children, ages 2 and 7, but said they were safe and healthy.

"We are still working on the motive of this," New Orleans Police Superintendent Warren Riley told reporters. "We do have some limited information and limited information relative to leads at this time, but it's still very early at this point."

Police said they were not sure if Bryant knew the killer, but they did say that there was no sign of forced entry, according to WWLTV. Forensics swept through Bryant's house on Thursday, and relatives and neighbors also went to the residence.

"We've not drawn any conclusions," Assistant New Orleans Police Superintendent Marlon Defillo told WWLTV. "We've not made any elimination. As the day progresses, we hope to learn more, but it's a work in progress."

Spears loses custody of children

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A court has ordered pop singer Britney Spears to give up custody of her children effective Wednesday at noon.

In addition to ordering the twice-weekly drug tests, Gordon ordered Spears to spend eight hours per week working with a "parenting coach," who was to observe her interactions with her children.

Spears' former husband, Kevin Federline, is to retain custody of their two sons "until further order of the court," according to a ruling by Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon.

It was not clear what led to Monday's decision awarding Federline full custody. A transcript of the court proceedings was ordered sealed.

Last month, a judge ordered Spears, 25, to submit to random drug tests after finding she engaged in "habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol."

That order, also by Gordon, provided no details and did not name any drugs.

The former couple has been embroiled in a bitter custody fight over their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden. The parents had split custody 50-50, but Federline then asked for the arrangements to be shifted to 70-30 in his favor.

Gordon also told both parents to avoid alcohol or "other non-prescription controlled substances" 12 hours before taking custody of the children.

He also barred the exes from making "derogatory remarks about the other party and the other party's family or significant other" during the case.

And he ordered the parents to go through "joint co-parenting counseling" and barred them from using corporal punishment on the boys.

Spears and Federline were married for two years before their divorce became final in July.

Monday's order comes amid a career freefall for Spears, whose new album is due to be released November 13.

After her September 9 "comeback" performance on the MTV Video Music Awards, critics derided her singing and dancing as lackluster and said she appeared overweight in her sequined two-piece costume. Her former divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, resigned last month as her legal representative after telling reporters the singer "just wants to be a mom."

Spears' management company, the Firm, recently quit after representing the singer for little over a month.

Shaq has filed for divorce from his wife of five years Shaunie on Tuesday.

NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal has filed for divorce from is wife Shaunie on Tuesday in Miami court. The couple have been married since 2002 and have four children together. Shaq also has a daughter from a previous relationship and Shaunie O'Neal has a son.

The grounds for the divorce - the marriage is "irretrievably broken", as noted in the court documents. Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal have a prenuptial agreement, but Shaq has asked the court to order Shaunie to give a correct accounting of all her money that she came with into the marriage, accusing his wife of secrecy about her finances. The divorce papers filed by Shaq recommend that Shaunie O'Neal is made the primary custodian of their children, while liberal rights of visitation are given to Shaquille.

A website called MediaTakeOut claims that the reason for the divorce is cheating. According to the site quoting unnamed insider close to Shaq, Shaunie O'Neal has been cheating on the basketball star with her personal trainer. As the divorce proceedings heat up, more rumors are expected to surface about the reason Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal are calling it quits.

The O'Neals have four children together -- Me'Arah, 1; Shaqir, 4; Amirah, 5; and Shareef, 7. Each also has a child from a previous relationship.

The 41-year-old actress revealed the news on Tuesday that she is three months pregnant with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry's baby.

Halle states that she and the boyfriend are beyond excited and that she has waited a very long time for this moment in life. Now the next several months will be the longest of her life as she awaits her first bundle of joy!

WTF?!?!? How many times must we go through this people! Have we not learned any thing from Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, etc. I mean really.

Part of me is starting to believe that these stars are getting a kick out of the constant media attention surrounding their “bad girl” status. Every time I turn around, there is another star being arrested for a DUI.

I mean sure it happens every day in life, but the average person is not going to have their mug shot smeared all over television. Have they no shame? Do they feel no embarrassment?

Are they do this for the publicity or because they don’t care? What’s gives with all of the celebrity arrests?

AND, to top this all off, many young girls really look up to young stars like Paris, who is famous for nothing, and Lindsay – neither of which can serve as a good role model on any level!

Who is Bobby Cutts Jr.?

CANTON, Ohio – Questions about Bobby Cutts Jr. lead quickly to the women and children in his life.

There’s his oldest daughter, Taylor, born out of wedlock to a girlfriend in 1997.

There’s his younger daughter, Breonna, born in 2001, also out of wedlock: he and the child’s mother married shortly thereafter.

There’s his son, 2-year-old Blake, born after an affair with another girlfriend while separated from his wife. Relatives say he would have had a fourth child, Chloe, had the child been born as scheduled early next month.

Instead, Cutts is accused of murdering the unborn girl along with her pregnant mother, Jessie Davis, also the mother of Blake.

“There’s a lot of little children being absolutely devastated over this,” Davis’ mother, Patricia Porter, said Monday outside Canton Municipal Court. “We can’t forget them.”

Cutts, 30, a Canton police officer, had earlier Monday been ordered held on $5 million bond.

Cutts’ former high school classmate accused of lying to investigators, Myisha Ferrell, 29, was ordered held on $500,000 bond. Her attorney declined comment.

Davis, 26, was missing for about a week before her body was found in a northeast Ohio park Saturday, still carrying the unborn baby she was due to deliver July 3.

Cutts is accused of killing Davis and the fetus June 14 at her home in nearby Lake Township. Ohio law allows a murder charge against someone accused of killing a fetus that would have been able to live outside the womb.

Cutts’ attorney, Bradley Iams, declined to discuss details of the charges against his client or anything Cutts said to him during the brief court appearance.

Cutts’ stepmother, Barbara Cutts, on Monday called her stepson a generous man good with kids who coached youth soccer, basketball and football. She and Cutts’ father last saw him Saturday at his house in Plain Township outside North Canton, where he was drained and exhausted.

“It’s very hard to accept,” said Barbara Cutts, 46, a nurse’s aide. “A lot of people are looking at him like a bad person, but he’s not, he really isn’t.”

Cutts met Taylor’s mother, Nikki Giavasis, when both attended nearby Walsh University. Taylor has lived with Giavasis for most of her life in California, but Cutts challenged the custody arrangement in 2005.

Hours before Cutts’ arraignment, Stark County Family Court Judge David Stucki dismissed a custody case here, citing the charges against Cutts as one factor in his decision, said Jeffrey Jakmides, a lawyer representing Giavasis. Another custody dispute is ongoing in a California court, he said.

“The family has deliberately tried not to burden her (Taylor) with this,” Jakmides said, referring to the murder case. “They’ve tried as much as possible to keep her from the media storm.”

Court documents had criticized both parents for poor judgment.

“The fact is Cutts fathered a child with another woman while he was married to his present wife,” Jakmides said in an August 2006 filing in Stark County Common Pleas Court.

Susan Hulit Burns, Taylor’s court-appointed guardian, said she was bothered by how often Giavasis switched apartments and daycare providers, questioning the effect on Taylor. She said she was also bothered that Cutts “conceived a child during his separation” from his wife, according to a June 2006 court filing.

In 1998, Cutts was accused of breaking into Giavasis’ home while she was inside with former NBA player Shawn Kemp of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cutts pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge and was sentenced to three years’ probation.

Cutts married his wife, Kelly, in July 2001, two months after Breonna was born.

They separated in 2003 while Cutts faced criminal charges after his police supervisors alleged he had given his gun to a drug-dealing cousin.

Cutts was acquitted and an arbitrator ordered Canton to rehire him with back pay.

During the separation, he had an affair with Jessie Davis and conceived Blake, born in December 2004. On Monday, Porter was granted temporary custody of the boy in Stark County Family Court.

It was Blake who provided investigators searching for Davis their first clues earlier this month, saying: “Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy’s in rug.”

Porter found the boy home alone on June 15, Davis missing, furniture toppled in the bedroom and a pool of bleach on the floor.

Family members have told Blake that his mother is in heaven, Porter said.

“He has an old cell phone and he calls her and talks to her,” she said.

Porter said Monday she’s not sure who Cutts is anymore.

“We knew Bobby Cutts up to a certain day in this and from that day on we did not know him at all,” she said. “I don’t think my daughter ever knew him either.”

Cutts played football, wearing No. 9, at GlenOak High School, a suburban school whose most famous graduate is goth rocker Marilyn Manson.

After he became a police officer, Cutts also played semiprofessional football with the Massillon Bengals in the Ohio Valley League and in 2005 was drafted by the Canton Legends of the Atlantic Indoor Football League.

Cutts played softball the evening of June 13 and then spent about four hours at a sports bar in Canton. He told The (Canton) Repository last week that he called Davis that night – the day before he’s accused of killing her – and it was the last time they spoke.

Missing Pregnant Mom: Jessie Marie Davis

Have you all been following this story about Jessie Marie Davis?

Well my girl, my sister, and I have been all over it like white on rice. Hell, I can’t even get my home work done for trying to stay up to date on this story.

I have been wanting to write about this for several day now, but I just never seemed to have the chance.

Oh the drama. I am a fanatic for crime stories, especially those of this nature. There are so many details I can hardly keep up!

For those of you haven’t followed the story, it all became a national media event after Jessie Davis’ mother, Patty Porter, found her missing June 15. Porter had not talked with her daughter since 9:30 p.m. June 13, and went to her to find her.

When she got there, she found Davis’ 2-year-old son, Blake, unattended and the duplex in shambles. She looked for her daughter but she was no where to be found. Jessie was due to deliver a baby girl, who she named Chloe on July 3 but was reported missing after her mother found Davis' 2-year-old son home alone, bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor.

The two year old son of Davis gave investigators their first clues and the grandmother the first clues that something was terribly wrong when he began to say, "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in rug".

The massive search came to a heart-breaking end Saturday afternoon when authorities announced they found a body they believed to be that of 26-year-old Jessie Davis. The body was positively confirmed as hers today.

Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, was arrested on two counts of murder Saturday. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges of murdering Davis and her fetus. Up until then he had maintained that he had NOTHING to do with her disappearance. Don’t they always say that?

The background on Mr. Bobby is that he is a police officer who is Davis' boyfriend and has an estranged wife and possible even another girlfriend. They also suspect he is the father of the unborn child, but he only admits that it is possible that he is the father. Yeah right!

I can’t help but wonder what in the hell would make a man kill a nearly nine months pregnant woman? But of course the other twist in the case is that Cutts say that he did not kill her. He does admit to moving the body with the aid of his accomplice Myisha Ferrell, who was arrested today, but he maintains that he did not kill her.

Mr. Cutts says that he went over to her house between 1-3am and he knew that something was wrong with her. She was just laying there. Then she began grabbing all over his clothes, her eyes rolled back into her head, and she just died. He says he then panicked. At this point, he calls a friend. She comes over and helps him move the body.

My question is why? Why in the hell would someone do that if they had nothing to with her death? That’s a bunch of bull shit if I ever heard it.

Then, why in the hell would you help somebody move a damn body?

Another rumor I heard is that Davis didn’t even die in her home. Sources close to the case have said that Cutts and Ferrell took Jessie somewhere else and killed her. But I will admit I don’t know how true that is.

• 6:24 p.m. Jessie M. Davis shops at Acme Market on N. Main Street in North Canton.

• 9:20 p.m. Patty Porter speaks by phone with Davis, her daughter, the last time anyone reports having contact with Davis.

• 6:30 p.m. Canton police officer Bobby Cutts Jr., on his regularly scheduled day off, plays a softball game with Mr. C, a Canton Recreation League team.

• Around 8 p.m. Cutts says he spoke with Davis by phone.

• 9:30 p.m. Cutts goes to Champs on 30th Street NE in Canton. Owner John Shaheen says tapes show Cutts stayed until about 12:30 a.m.

THURSDAY, JUNE 14

• 8:15 a.m. A co-worker sends Davis a text message. It isn’t returned.

FRIDAY, JUNE 15

• 6:30 a.m. Porter calls Davis but gets no answer.

• 7 a.m. Davis doesn’t drop Blake at Porter’s house. Porter and a daughter go to Davis’ Lake Township home. They find Blake alone. The bedroom is in disarray. Davis, her cell phone and a comforter are missing.

• Sheriff’s deputies begin investigation, questioning neighbors, Cutts and his estranged wife, Kelly. They also search Cutts’ house.

SATURDAY, JUNE 16

• Davis’ family posts and distributes more than 1,200 fliers. Sheriff’s K-9 unit searches area around Davis’ duplex at 8686 Essex Ave. NE.

SUNDAY, JUNE 17

• Sixty family members, friends and concerned residents search for Davis or any evidence in the case.

MONDAY, JUNE 18

• 7 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies, FBI agents and state agents spend two hours at Cutts’ home and search a vehicle.

• 7:45 p.m. Newborn baby girl found outside home near Wooster in Wayne County.

TUESDAY, JUNE 19

• Cutts makes first public comments in interview with The Repository. Denies having anything to do with Davis’ disappearance and says he last spoke to her around 8 p.m. June 13.

• Davis’ family contacts

search and rescue group.

• Investigators say they have no suspects.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

• Newborn baby placed in temporary custody of Wayne County Department of Job and Family Services. DNA tests pending.

• 3:45 p.m. Armed with a warrant, investigators return to Cutts’ house and resume searching.

THURSDAY, JUNE 21

• About 1,000 volunteer searchers, led by law enforcement teams and coordinated by EquuSearch, fan out across fields just east of the Akron-Canton Regional Airport. One team discovers a dirt mound that police cadaver dogs investigate further, but it turns out to be a cache of marijuana.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22

• The mother of the child abandoned near Wooster comes forward, ruling out any connection to Davis.

• 900 volunteers search another 12 square miles without any clues.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

• 3:30 p.m. Body of Jessie M. Davis recovered in Summit County

Daddy Dilemmas

This morning I heard that the courts awarded the America’s Got Talent judge David Hasselhoff FULL custody of his 2 daughters yesterday.

The mom apparently only got visitation rights. My question is after all of David's trouble with alcohol has been more than publicly displayed and he still got sole custody of the kids, what on earth does THAT say about the mother!?!?!?! I will say that I heard that mom was asked to take a drug test and she refused. Chyle I dont know what to say about these people!

Momz usually get the positive nod when it comes to court battles (even though its not SUPPOSED to be this way). That certainly wasnt the case in this battle!

Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin cant come ANYWHERE near his daughter. Back in April 2007, Baldwin temporarily lost his visitation rights to his daughter when Basinger's lawyers played an angry recording of him branding Ireland a rude, thoughtless little pig for missing a scheduled phone call. There is still no word as to actually leaked the recorded message in the first place but I think we can all draw our own conclusions on that one.

Should A Terminally Ill Inmate Still Be Executed?

Terminally ill inmate will still be executed. Defense attorney says man is ‘on the verge of death’ with lung, brain cancer

The Oklahoma state parole board refused to block the execution of a death row inmate who is dying of cancer. Jimmy Dale Bland is to be executed June 26 for the Nov. 14, 1996, murder of 62-year-old Doyle Windle Rains 11 years ago.

Prior to this murder, Bland spent 20 years of a 60-year sentence in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and kidnapping charges back in 1975. He had been out of prison for only about a year when he was accused of shooting Rains to death.

Now he is on the verge of death with advanced lung cancer that has spread to his brain and his hip bone. Doctors say even if the 49-year-old man were not executed, he has as little as six months to live. Talk about bad karma!

Some feel that the death sentence should be commuted out of simple decency and mercy for a person who is terminally ill and is going to die anyway. The family of the murder victim feels the exact opposite and who could blame them.

What do you think? Should a terminally ill prisoner have their execution overturned since they are essentially going to die any way?

Thousands of naked people embrace at Mexico City's main Zocalo plaza during the massive naked photo session with U.S. photographer Spencer Tunick the in the early hours of Sunday May 6, 2007. According to the organizers, almost 20 thousand people took off their clothes.

Whatz up bloggers?!?!!?

I jus wanted to say hello and let you all know that I am doing okay and I appreciate you guys still checking in on me. Things are going pretty good, but I have just been busy as all hell. For the last month or so I have been working so hard between work and school that I have hardly has a chance to do any wedding planning! I have been working a lot of overtime trying to complete a few grants I have been helping my office to write for the CDC. Grant writing is a bitch!!!

Anyhoo, like I said I just wanted to say hello and drop a few lines to let you all know that I am doing okay. I hope one day soon I will get the chance to catch up on all of these blogs and juicy dirt I have been missing.

Top 10 Foods for a Good Night's Sleep

What is the secret to getting a solid 7 to 8 hours of sleep? Head for the kitchen and enjoy one or two of these 10 foods. They relax tense muscles, quiet buzzing minds, and/or get calming, sleep-inducing hormones - serotonin and melatonin - flowing. Yawning yet?

Bananas. They're practically a sleeping pill in a peel. In addition to a bit of soothing melatonin and serotonin, bananas contain magnesium, a muscle relaxant.

Lullaby Muffins

Makes 12 low-fat muffins
Between the bananas, the whole wheat, and the honeyed touch of sweetness, these muffins are practically an edible lullaby.

· 2 cups whole-wheat pastry flour
· 1/2 teaspoon salt
· 1 tablespoon baking powder
· 2 large, very ripe bananas
· 1/3 cup applesauce
· 1/4 cup honey
· 1/2 cup milk or soymilk

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine the flour (make sure it's whole-wheat pastry flour or you'll produce golf balls, not muffins), salt, and baking powder. In a blender, puree the bananas; add the applesauce, honey, and milk. Blend well. Pour the banana mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Line muffin tins with paper muffin cups, pour in batter, and bake 30 minutes or until tops are lightly brown and slightly springy.

Brandy involved in fatal car crash

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress and R&B singer Brandy was involved in a fatal, four-car accident on a Los Angeles freeway last month that started when her sports utility vehicle hit another car from behind, police said on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old former star of the TV comedy "Moesha" was not injured, but the driver of the car she rear-ended with her Land Rover in the December 30 crash died, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was identified as Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, a married mother of one, said CHP spokesman Leland Tang.

No charges or arrests have been made in connection with the accident, and no formal determination has been made as to what caused the crash, which was first reported by the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com.

But barring mechanical problems or other extenuating factors in such accidents, the driver of the car that rear-ends another is typically found to be at fault, Tang said.

He said the chain-reaction wreck started when Brandy's vehicle ran into the back of the car driven by Aboudihaj, whose car struck a third vehicle, then swerved into the freeway's center divider and was broad-sided by a fourth automobile.

A statement issued by Brandy's publicist said: "She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased" and asks the media to "respect the privacy of everyone involved at this time."

The singer-actress, whose full name is Brandy Norwood, was alone in her vehicle and no alcohol or drugs were involved, Tang said.

Brandy told officers she was driving at about 65 miles per hour before the crash occurred.

"We've impounded all four vehicles, and the outcome of the mechanical inspection is coming to us today or tomorrow," Tang said. "Barring any mechanical difficulties on Brandy's part, like a brake failure or a steering failure, then there's the very high probability that she is the party most at fault or the contributing party."

Brandy, a native of Missouri, burst on the recording scene with her self-tilted debut album in 1994, launching such hits as "I Wanna Be Down," "Baby" and "Brokenhearted." Her fourth album, "Afrodisiac," was released in 2004 with a lead single, "Talk About Our Love," produced by Kanye West.

Last year, she served on the panel of judges for NBC's summer show "America's Got Talent."

How is everything in the blogosphere? I hope that all is well and that everyone has been having a great holiday season. Things with me have been going pretty dawg on good. I really had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I didnt do too much for the New Year. I spent New Years Eve at home with my babe. We had a pretty good time though. New Year’s Day we spent over with his parent.

Bridal Boot Camp

I have got to get my a$$ in gear as for as my weight loss. I know that you guys have heard it all before but I am so serious this time. As of January 2, 2007 I am in Bridal Boot Camp. I need to get ready to fit into someonez beautifully designed wedding dress.

If anyone has any words of advice, plz feel free to share. What I plan to do is:

1. Go to the gym at least 4 days a week
2. Drink plenty of water every day
3. Eliminate caloric beverages
4. Decrease my caloric intake
5. Cut out the fried foods and all those damn chips!

I think thats a pretty good start. If not, its all I can do for now. Tootle loo!

Whatz really good in the blogosphere?!?!?

I apologize for the delay posting this, but life is more and more hectic for me as the days go by! As many of you know, I am on the count down towards graduating with my PhD and life has been full of up and downs along the way. I am still scheduled to graduate summer of 2007.

YEAH!!!!

In the meantime, I have still been working full-time and working on my dissertation research while trying to have a bit of a social life in between. But how dare I actually think that I am entitled to have a social life. Hmmph!

Im Engaged Homies

If anyone had told me a year ago that I would get engaged this year, I would have never believed it. Not in a million years. It all seemed to happen so fast. I mean in less than a years time I have started a new job, defended my dissertation proposal, broke up with a long time boyfriend, got a new boyfriend, and got engaged. I mean really!

I was in a relationship with a man on off for almost 10 years and there was never so much as a hint of marriage and here I am with someone new who fell in love and asked me to be his wife in well under a year. What are the chances of this happening?

I just cannot believe it sometimes. It still seems unreal and I cant stop looking at my ring. I am certain that some point this will wear off but I just have to enjoy the excitement for now.

We have set our wedding date for November 10, 2007. One week before my birthday.

My Christmas

Anyhoo, how was your Christmas?

Mine was great! I had a chance to spend time with my sisters and other family. I have been missing them so much. I truly enjoyed myself.

We do Secret Santa every year in my family since there are not little kids. Its always fun and as usual, I had no clue who had my name. It ended up being my brother-in-law who got me some Baby Phat perfume and some Yankee Candles just like I asked for on my Christmas list.

This was the first time that my mom met my fiance, so that was pretty exciting. Every seemed to love him. I was very happy about that cause sometimes you just never know. He had already met my sisters except for one and he has also met my dad a few months back when my dad was passing through on his was to a business trip, but he still needed to meet my mom and some other family. Like I said that went very well.

I tried not to overindulged too much, although it is up to the scale to tell the true tale. I mean I did eat food-food, but I did not have hardly any dessert other than a couple of pieces of cake. You can see the pic of the Italian Creme Rum Cake below. OMG, it was so damn good. Oh and how could I forget about the cocktails.

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can and quickly. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an "eggnog-alcoholic" or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it!!!! Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand-alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello???

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do.
This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, pumpkin and mincemeat - have a slice of each. Or, if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards for crying out loud!

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread tips: Start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"

Every man has made mistakes with women and vice-versa. We've been conned, duped and dazed by physical attraction. We've made fools of ourselves by kissing the feet of females who treated us like dirt. We've wasted countless hours and spent small fortunes chasing after women who lied to us and used us, and turned out to be rotten.

But do we learn from our experiences? No. Every time we think it's going to be different. We think if we just try harder, or do one little thing differently, the result will change.

Well, it's not going to change. If you keep pursuing the same kind of woman, you'll just get your heart broken over and over again.

Keep a watchful eye out for the following list of women, and you'll be one step closer to curing yourself of habitual *$#&@#!-dating:

1- Miss Feminist
This woman postulates that all the ills of society are orchestrated by men and the best thing a man can do to improve himself is cut off his testicles and grow a pair of ovaries. She believes that women are angelic creatures who would make the world a utopia if only the male "patriarchy" would allow them to. Any woman who promotes these absurdities lives in a fantasy world and will have no problem at all treating a man in a way that she would never herself abide by. You can easily identify her by her incessant mantra, "All men think with their penises." Avoid her at all costs.

2- Miss Take
She's out for your money -- pure and simple. Miss Take is the ultimate in high maintenance. She expects a man to finance her entire life just because she is biologically female. To her, a man should pay for drinks, dinners, trips, flowers, and jewelry, while she feels absolutely no guilt or compulsion to reciprocate. She is nothing but a whitewashed prostitute. Miss Take thinks her vagina is plated with gold and is worth a million dollars. She is greed personified. Since she has no concept of someone else's feelings, her only interest is in getting what she wants. And don't be fooled -- some apparently very "nice" girls are the greediest of them all.

3- Miss Romance
This type of woman lives in a fantasy world of Lifetime Channel movies and romance novels. Every night she goes home alone to spend hours flipping through her bride magazines, imagining that, at any moment, Prince Charming will ride up on his white horse, sweep her off her feet, and offer her a problem-free existence for the rest of her life. The Miss Romances of the world have been coddled by parents and family, told they are "princesses," and have absolutely no idea that real life consists of paying bills and cleaning toilets. Miss Romance will expect to be taken care of, will be a dud in bed, and will, almost overnight, turn into a shrieking nag. Run.

4- Miss Elusive
This woman is closely allied to Miss Romance, but with a dark side. She is usually one of the "walking wounded" -- someone who has been hurt in past relationships and so subconsciously avoids or sabotages new relationships in the present. Your association with her will be one of utter frustration, as first she shows great interest in you, but very quickly runs away -- then repeats this cycle over and over again. Miss Elusive is the queen of mixed messages. She will flirt with you and date you, but you'll never get past "friend" status. What you will get is a million excuses for her unavailability, all calculated to deceive herself that she just doesn't have time for a relationship. Save yourself some heartache -- don't get involved with her.

5- Miss Angry
Like Miss Feminists, Miss Angrys really don't like men. They scorn the male gender and can rattle off all the wrongs and misdeeds of every man they've ever encountered. To Miss Angry, there's no such thing as a nice guy -- they're all "jerks," "creeps" and "pigs." Many of them have lots of simmering anger at men, which can explode at any moment like an erupting volcano. Unless you're into lots of drama and screaming, stay away.

6- Miss Insecure
This woman seems great at the start because she's very nice, accommodating and treats men well. But her inner insecurities don't take long to surface. Pretty soon she's calling you 10 times a day, asking to see "where the relationship is going," or because she "just wants to hear your voice." She needs constant reassurance that she's attractive, and worries incessantly about her makeup, hair and the alignment of her clothes. She's clingy, needy and compulsively agonizes that you're going to leave her at any moment for "someone better." This kind of thing can get really creepy really fast.

7- Miss *$#&@#!
Miss Bitches are the sulkers, pouters and ball-busters of the female world. They are very unpleasant people who treat their fellow humans poorly, care only about themselves, and aren't concerned at all if they hurt you or anybody else. Most Miss Bitches qualify as Miss Takes, too. Miss Bitches are usually good-looking and well dressed, and you can easily identify them by the scowls on their faces as they imperiously strut through the world.

8- Miss Me
A close relative of Miss *$#&@#!, Miss Me is entirely focused on herself. Miss Me needs to be the constant center of attention no matter what she does or where she goes. She is a selfish, self-indulgent, self-serving narcissist who was raised as "daddy's little girl," and expects the same from you. Unless you enjoy the company of spoiled brats, stay far, far away.

9- Miss Desperate
Whether it's her baby clock ticking or she's the last of her girlfriends to trap a man, Miss Desperate wants to get married -- now. She doesn't care who the guy is or what he does -- as long as he's got a *$#&@#! she can drag him to the altar. Watch out for this one!

10- Miss Turncoat
She's a conniving little piece of work who's an expert at conning men. Miss Turncoat will tell you exactly what you want to hear until you're hooked deep into the relationship (or married)… and then the truth comes out. Overnight, your sweet little girl turns into a demanding, greedy, mercenary harpy who will browbeat you into submission if she doesn't get her way.

11- Miss Tease
Usually, you can spot Miss Teases a mile away because she flirts with anything in pants and flaunt her sexuality at every opportunity. Sometimes she sponges off older men; sometimes she's a ball-buster who enjoys getting men sexually excited and then walking away; and sometimes she just basks in her sexual power by attracting men like bees to honey. No matter how she operates, you can't trust her because she craves male attention and if somebody better comes along, she'll dump you in a heartbeat.

12- Miss Controlling
She is a subtly nasty one who will wind up directing every phase of your life. She will tell you what to wear, where to go, who to talk to, what friends you can have, what you can eat -- everything. And if you try to stand up for yourself, she will cut off sex, cry, scream, pout, or use any other deceptive female tactic until you give in and succumb to her demands.

R.I.P. Gerald Levert

Gerald Levert: 1966 - 2006

When I got home from the grocery store today I received a call from my sister as I was putting away the groceries. She had been riding and listening to the radio when she heard the news of Gerald Levert dying of an apparent heart attack.

I was stunned.

I had to stop what I was doing and take a sit for a moment. As I heard those words I just felt this great since of sadness. I honestly loved Gerald Levert. He was one of my favorite R&B singers. He had the most sultry, soulful voice. It seems like such a lost.

I felt sad for his family and his friends. The man had four children and I really felt bad for his father. It has to be one of the most awful feelings in the world for someone to loose a child. It just doesnt seem natural for the child to die before the parent.

Damn!

A Message From Nic

This man was only 40 years old. Dead of a heart attack?!?!!?

Being that I work with the Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention program here in Florida I just have to take the time to talk to anyone that is reading this post. It is becoming more and more common for people especially blacks to die of heart attacks, but listen when I tell you that it doesnt have to be this way!

My people we (myself included) have GOT TO start taking better care of ourselves and paying better attention to our bodies and the warning signs.

We have got to live right, eat right, stop smoking, and exercise more.

There is NO reason for us to be dying off so young. I had two family members to die in their 50s of heart attacks and that is still too young to die, especially from a disease that is preventable.

I am not trying to preach. I am just trying to do my part as a health educator and spread the word about heart attack prevention and share with you the signs and symptom.

Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening:

Chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.

Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.

Shortness of breath. May occur with or without chest discomfort.

Other signs: These signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

And ALWAYS remember to call 9-1-1!

TMZ.com says the comedian, 41, has started divorce proceedings against Malaak Compton-Rock, with whom he has two daughters, Lola, 4, and Zahra, 2, and has tapped a "high-powered" legal pit bull to represent him.

The timing of the supposed split is interesting, coming as it does just three weeks before the couple's 10th wedding anniversary, a milestone date that can sometimes have a major impact on how much moolah is shelled out in the settlement.

For now, Rock's rep remains mum on the split rumblings, telling TMZ, "I cannot comment at this time."

It's a good bet the multitasking star, who hits screens in March in the unfortunately titled "I Think I Love My Wife"(he also co-wrote and directed the flick), will mine his purported marital woes for his stand-up act, just as he did when he settled into domestic bliss.

To Vote or Not To Vote, That Is The Question

Are you going to cast your ballot?

I visited Dr. Debs site tonight and it really got me to thinking about tomorrows elections.

The 2006 Florida gubernatorial election is taking place on November 7, 2006. Our current governor, Jeb Bush, is finishing up his second term and cannot run for re-election; Thank God!

I will be casting my ballot tomorrow evening. I had planned to do it before work but I realized today that I have to go to a training tomorrow that I cannot be late for so it will have to wait till I get out of there. But not to worry, I am definitely going to the polls! I really hope that we will see some changing in our state soon.

Oh and something interesting on the ballot is having health insurance for everyone in the county but electing to impose a half cent sales tax. I am really interesting to see how that one comes out. I am for it myself because I know how not having health insurance adversely affects health outcomes and I actually give a damn. I know that many people do not though.

Another interesting tidbit is that if Jim Davis wins, his running mate Darryl Jones will be the first African American Lt. Governor in the states history!

Since we are on this whole voting thing, let me tell you the thing that irks me. I know that the candidates feel they have to get their messages out there but come on, give me a break!

I am so sick of these attack ads coming on back to back. They will show an ad for Charlie Crist bashing Jim Davis and then turn around in the same block of commercials show Jim Davis in a commercial that is bashing Crist. I mean WTF?!?!? Give it a damn rest already!

I received this via email today and I just wanted to share it with everyone. A friend of mine sends me these Morning Ministry emails each day. This one was particularly interesting to me because it talked about pride. Pride is one of those things that can be helpful but it can also be a hindrance.

I have been in the situation many times here lately where I tried to reach out to someone in need but their pride wouldnt let me help. Their pride wouldnt let me be there for them. Sometimes there is a huge tug of war between us, when it really doesnt have to be and it is all because of pride. I have said it many times over the last few months. Sometime you just have to ... May I ask you a question? When you ask God for your request, what are your intentions? Are you sincere or do you want to boast in the face of others?

Will the Lord receive glory? Many times we ask God for (some)things, but we are to proud to do what the Lord says do to receive it. We want God to open the windows of Heaven, but we do not want to tithe. We want God to forgive us, but we do not want to forgive others. To proud to admit it?

My friend, you must learn to Put Your Pride Aside! The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:18 - Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. As a child of God, there should be no room in our lives for pride. When we ask the Lord to bless us, sometimes He may use people to do it.

My brother, my sister, many people miss out on their blessings
because pride interrupted the progress. Put Your Pride Aside! The Bible declares in Proverbs 29:23 - A mans pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. The opposite of pride, is humility. When you are humble, God is able to do great things in your life. The ONLY Secret To Success

To become truly successful in life, you must STOP doing what you dont like doing.

Think about it: you can do something that you are good at, and even become reasonably successful at it. But if you dont like doing it, are you truly successful?

With enough hard work you can become financially secure and well off. But if you dont like doing what you are doing, is it really worth it?

You can find what you love doing and become good at it. But if your life is full of other things that you *hate* doing, are you truly, ultimately successful?

Now, look at this definition:

Success is when you dont do anything you dont like doing.

What does it mean?

It means that your life is a continuous experience of joy and pleasure. When you dont do ANYTHING that you dont like doing, it means you enjoy EVERYTHING that you do.

Now, tell me if there can be a better way of living the life of happiness than only doing the things that you enjoy and never having the need to do anything you dont like.

You can tell me that it is impossible to never do the things you dont like: who will wash the dishes and clean the house?

But thats exactly what its all about: if you dont like doing those things, you CAN arrange the world in such a way that somebody else will do the things you dont like doing. You simply PAY them for doing that.

So, the only secret to success is still about money?

No.

Its about DIRECTION.

It gives you clarity on what success really means.

Not success in general - your own, personal success.

The one and only secret to your one and only success.

You own it now.

The less there are things in your life that you dont like doing, the more successful you are.

Simple.

Now you know.

You can look at the things in your life that you are doing and see how you can sort it out in such a way that you dont have to do anything you dont like.
There IS a way. You must just think HOW.

It may take a bit of time. But you know what... Time is all we truly own in this life.

We come to this world naked and leave it with nothing. Our time on this Earth is what we call, LIFE.

It is worth spending some time having the most of your time filled by only those things you LOVE, isnt it?

Whatz up bloggers!??!

No to much with me. Just trying to make it. I have been busy as all hell with work and school, especially work. Gosh...I know I go to work to actually work, but damn. This is ridiculous! Can I plz have a few moments to chill out, talk on the phone, or surf the net? Jeeze! Im just kidding. Well Im kinda serious but still. Give me a break. I have even been taking shit home to do in the evenings and on the weekends. This sux!

Check out this story. I watched Nancy Grace talk about this kidnapping tonight and these three guys must be idiots. They caught the kidnapping on video tape! Dont people know that ATMs have video? Or as some would say, they are just bold as hell, didnt give a damn and felt they had nothing to lose so fuck it! Who knows

Friday night, Statesville police arrested a third suspect in connection with the kidnapping of two teens last Saturday.

Dewayne Davis was taken into custody after police responded to a stranded motorist call. Davis had run out of gas.

On Wednesday, police released Davis's name and photo. Two other suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Police arrested Teonte Heller last Tuesday night. Joshua Collins was arrested at the scene.

Last Monday afternoon, officers showed 6NEWS video from the chase that lead to one arrest and showed the recovery of victim Tabitha Champ, 19.

When the kidnapping occurred, Champ was sitting in her car, talking to a friend, who wished not to be identified.

Police said three men approached the car with guns, forced their way in at gun point and told the teens to drive.

The teens were forced to drive from ATM to ATM, withdrawing money, emptying their accounts.

After the gunmen hit the ATMs, they drove the teens to Champ's house.

Me and my wife wake up in our bed with guns pointed at our heads in our house, Tabithas father, Mark Champ said.

The family was held hostage, terrorized and robbed. Then, the gunmen took off.

They forced Tabitha into the trunk of the family's Mercedes.

Mark Champ called police and they were soon chasing the car, not realizing Tabitha was inside.

Video from a police patrol car Saturday night shows a white Mercedes trying to outrun officers.

The car then hit a fire hydrant, which immobilized the front end.

My daughter was in the trunk and the guys running 80-90 miles an hour and totals the car up here, said Mark Champ.

Police moved in, pulling out the only suspect left in the car, Joshua Collins, 18, and arrested him.

Officers then heard kicking in the trunk. They opened it to find the Champ alive and safe.

Im furious about what happened to my daughter. Shes 19 years old and somebody had to have seen what happened out here, says Champ.

A second arrest was made in the kidnapping last Tuesday. Until then, the names of the other two suspects were unknown. But thanks to several tipsters, police were able to identify one of the two men who were still at large.

Police said Teonte Heller, 18, was recognized by several people after his picture was shown on the news Monday night.

Police used video from one of the ATM machines to identify the suspects that made Champ withdraw money for them, a move which Statesville Police Officer William Halliburton calls, Highly risky on their part showing that they dont have a lot of concern for their actions or for law enforcement.

They visited enough places and showed themselves to enough people that we feel pretty certain that arrests are going to be immanent in this case, says Lieutenant Dan Miglind with the Statesville Police Department.

Collins was arraigned in court Monday on 12 different charges, including kidnapping and robbery. He is already a convicted felon and a federal agent has been assigned to the case.

Heller was wanted for two counts of armed robbery and two counts of first degree burglary.

He could also face charges from the Iredell County Sheriffs Department for invading the victims home in Troutman.

There is no word yet if there will be any federal charges.

Tyler Perry - who has wowed audiences with such blockbuster movies as Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madeas Family Reunion, as well as the popular syndicated series Tyler Perry has signed on to host Film Life’s 2006 BLACK MOVIE AWARDS - A Celebration of Black Cinema: Past, Present and Future, presented by Turner Network Television (TNT).

The gala awards show, which launched on TNT last year, recognizes creative achievement by persons of African descent in feature length motion pictures, both in front of and behind the camera, and honors outstanding films portraying the Black experience.

Hello My Blog Family!

I hope all is well in your worlds. Before I begin, I want to tell you that I really appreciate from the bottom of my heart all of the love, support, prayers, and best wishes you all expressed to me and my family during a very difficult time in our lives. I really did my heart a world of good to know that so many of you cared so much for little ole me.

I wanted to take some time to update everyone on whatz going on with me. Thanks again for caring so much!

My Cousinz Death

It was very difficult for my family to cope with his death but we all made through. This is the first time we have ever dealt with a tragic loss. We have had family members who were elderly pass on but never a child. Travis being so young made the death more difficult to deal with.

My uncle (Travis father) really took the death hard. He is generally a very happy and chipper man, but now when I talk to him I hear nothing but sadness in his voice, which is understandable. I think he is getting better though.

There are no new developments in the case. All we know is that it was a hit and run.

Weight Loss Woes

With everything that has been going on with me, I have not been eating or going to the gym like I should. Needless to say when I went to the doctor last week, the lying ass scale had the nerve to say that I had gained 7lbs back...WTF?!?!?!

I have got to get my shit together for real. I had lost a total of 31 lbs and wanted to lose another 20, but at the rate I am going I will never get there. Lord knows I do not wanna go back to wearing my old size and to top it all off its FAMU Homecoming next week. I was supposed to be super fine by now. What the hell?

I did at least manage to make it to the gym today. I did the elliptical and some weights, but that does not make up for the lasagna I had for lunch and dinner. I made a pan of it yesterday for dinner, I am polishing off left overs around here. I am not going to have anymore of it though. I plan on giving the rest of it away or freezing some of it. ~Sigh~

Work

Work is going pretty good. Nothing to complain about wqhich is always a wonderful thang!

There is a Chronic Disease Program Manager position about to be advertised in my section so I was even thinking about applying for it. I would probably be a pay increase of about $4-5K, but notice the key word is probably.

I have not made up my mind totally about that yet. It would be a great opportunity with experience that would be VERY valuable, but am I really ready for the responsibility that will come along with it? Who knows...

I even wanted to serve so H.A.M. for old times sake!

R.I.P. Travis, You Will Be Missed

Hello everyone out there in the blogosphere!

It has really been a sad ast few days. I just had to take a moment to say that I am dealing with a very devastating tragedy in my family. My cousin who was only 17 y/o was struck and killed by a hit and run driver over the weekend. My family is distraught and the city is up in arms over what happened to him. The community is truly rallying for justice!

I am so angry at the person who could hit someone and not even have the decency to call 911 even if they did it anonymously! Have they no shame, no morals, no scruples, no conscience!?!?!?!

I keep thinking maybe if only they had called 911, maybe he would still be alive.

He was the son of my motherz youngest brother. My grandmother only had 9 grandchildren, 4 boys and 5 girls. Now we are down to just 8. Our family is so small already, now it is even smaller. Who would have thought that the one who is the 2nd YOUNGEST, would be the FIRST to go. Never in a million years had I imagined some thing like this. Of course I know that we all have to go at some point, but I hadnt thought it would be this soon and certainly not like this.

He didnt even get the chance to live his life. He just turned 17 last month. He was just so young to die.

I want justice! I want the person that did this to him to be punished for what they have done to my family! I am so angry. How could they just leave him in the road like that to die? How could they?

What is the World Coming To?

You know what? I do not understand what the hell is wrong with the crazy ass people in this world. When I briefly heard about a woman drowning three children and stuffing them into a washer and dryer this morning when I was getting dressed, I thought that I must have mistaken. I just had to look it up on the net the first chance I got. Sure enough, the awful story was true.

What I found out was that a 24 year old woman in St Louis, Tiffany Hall, was being held on a $5 million bond for committing an unthinkable crime!

In court, the prosecutors say she killed 23 year old Jimella Tunstall (see her picture below), and her unborn baby. Might I also add that the crazy bitch cut the baby from her womb. WTF?

Not only did crazy murder the mom, but she also told police she drowned her three children: ages 7, 2 and 1, and stuffed them into a washer and dryer at the apartment they shared with their mother.

Hall has not been charged in the childrens deaths and the police have not stated what the possible motive is. Her public defender has requested a psychological evaluation and that she be segregated from the rest of the inmates for her protection.

Psychological evaluation?!?!?! Is there really any one out there who doubts that this heffa is crazy?!?!?! I mean really! I just cant believe that she could or would do such a thing.

This is so sick and so incredibly sad. The funeral for mother and children is scheduled for this coming Friday.

First Time Sex.

A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night and have dinner with her parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.

Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he Takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. He tells the pharmacist it's his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour.

He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex. At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he'd like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.

That night, the boy shows up at the girl's parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door. "Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!" The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl's parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head.

A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head down.
Ten minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, "I had no idea you were this religious."

The boy turns and whispers back, "I had no idea your father was a pharmacist.

Whatz up in blogosphere?

Not much at all with me. Things have been going pretty well for the most part. My sisters (the twins) are coming in town this weekend for the first FAMU home game of the season so that should be a lot of fun. Well, I mean I’m not all that excited about the game per se, but more so about the fact that I can get me a candy apple and shop the street venders that come out. Anyhoo, you guys take care!

NASSAU, Bahamas (Reuters) - Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son died suddenly at her bedside in a Bahamian hospital where the former Playboy Playmate was recovering from the birth of a daughter, police said on Monday.

Daniel Smith was found sitting upright in a chair in his mother's room at the private Doctors Hospital in the Bahamian capital of Nassau early on Sunday and could not be revived, police said. There were no signs of trauma on his body and no sign of a struggle in the room, police said.

Whatz up my blogging buddies?

Not much on my end. I took a few days off from work earlier this week for some much needed rest and relaxation! Aahhhhhh it was great. What sux tho is the fact that I can barely tell I had any time off with the way I feel. I hate coming back to work after a vacation…Lawd, does anyone do any thing while you are gone? Jeezz!

Things are back on target with me finishing up my dissertation research. I talked to my dissertation chair and he said that things look good for me graduating in the spring. Looks like I will soon be able to get my IBEPHD license tag! I will be so glad when I am finally done with school. Then I will be able to play on the net and visit all of you as much as I want to.

My girl Laptop Cutie is having a birthday this Sunday, so a few friends, my sister, and I are all going to go out for a celebration on Saturday. This should be fun. I havent been out with the girlz in a minute.

Nothing too special has been going on in my world. Just been busy as ever. I started back to school after taking the summer off so its beeen a little rough trying to get back into the swing of things if you know what I mean.

CONGRATULATIONS
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE

1920 and 1930's
40's, 50's, 60 's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked
and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored
lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.

Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was
always a special treat.

We drank water from the
garden hose and NOT
from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE
actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......

WE WERE
ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendos, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround
sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms........WE
HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents .

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend 's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned....

HOW

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.

Greys Anatomy Drama

There’s trouble on the set of one of my favorite shows Greys Anatomy.

The show is about to enter its second season on a new night, Thursdays - which sucks because I already have a show that I like to watch on Thursday but I digress.

Anyhoo, the show had an incredible first season, and its been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards. The actors all received huge bonuses for their performances. So whats the problem? There is a lot of tension between the actors and Greys Creator Shonda Rhimes (see her pic below). Rhimes is an African American woman who created the hit show. Sources say she is unbearable to work with. Some of the actors on the show want the freedom to do other projects while they work on Greys Anatomy. Rhimes put her foot down: NO! She wants the actors to put their energy into the hit show. Is Rhimes the problem, or are the stars of the show getting big heads? Is it a battle of egos or a problem with taking direction from a sistah?

Is There A Destiny Fight? Uhmmm, Yep!

Six years after being fired from Destinys Child, R&B singer LeToya Luckett is apparently still paying.

On Tuesday, her debut solo album, "LeToya," showed up in record stores, featuring the single "Torn," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts. But industry insiders are buzzing that her former bandmate Beyoncé Knowles is rushing out her next album, "B-Day," to sabotage Luckett's success.

Beyoncé and her father-manager, Matthew Knowles, who also managed Destinys Child, have made "B-Day" available for preorders before the Sept. 4 release. Insiders claim it's an attempt to distract fans from LeToya and undercut her sales.

In 2001, LeToya and ex-Destinys Child member LaTavia Roberson settled breach-of-contract and fraud suits against Beyoncés dad and the girl group. "There was supposed to be this whole peace treaty between the girls," an insider told Lowdown. "Lady Elle carries Beyoncés clothing line and is very successful. The fact is, this is supposed to be over and in the past."

A call to Beyoncés rep was not returned. LeToyas record label, Capitol, declined to comment.

Hello blog family!

How are you all doing? All good I hope and that you had a great weekend.

Things with me are going good. I had an excellent weekend. I went to Ft. Lauderdale last Thursday and stayed until yesterday. My sister and I went to the Fred Hammond and Tonex concert on Saturday. OMG! They put on such a good show. They have such anointed voices. I felt blessed just being in the building. They both have new CDs coming out (one in September and the October) and I want both of them.

The rest of the weekend went well. I did a little shopping and hung out with my sisters. It was good seeing them. They will like come here next month for the first FAMU home football game, so I will get to see them again really soon.

Im headed to Miami to see my favorite artist in concert this weekend. Fred Hammond will be performing on Saturday and I absolutely cannot wait!

I have been wanting to see him in concert for the last two years, but I could never find a one that was even remotely close to Florida. Finally, I have found one. Since my sisters are in Ft. Lauderdale I may as well may a long weekend outta this trip and stay for a visit. Even though its a bit of a drive from here it will be worth it to see my sisters and Fred. Have a great weekend!

HOW TO WORK WITH A NEGATIVE PERSON (WITHOUT BECOMING ONE)

Most people are easy to work with. They are friendly, helpful, and upbeat. They speak favorably about the organization and they willingly devote their time and energy to ensure its success, often going above and beyond the formal requirements of the job. They are conscientious, dependable, and helpful. In short, they are good team players.

Unfortunately, not everyone is so enthusiastic.

Some people have a negative attitude about the job, the organization, and life in general. These individuals tend to be overly pessimistic and cynical. They are often quick to find fault with others and are critical of new ideas. To hear them talk you would think that all is lost, nothing will work, and we might as well shoot ourselves and get it over with.

These negative types are also unhelpful. They refuse to participate in voluntary group activities, for example.

And they grumble and complain every time you ask them to do something, treating every request as if it's a major imposition.

No one likes to be around people who are negative - they're disagreeable and difficult to work with.

Most of the time, you just try to avoid them. However, it's not always possible to do that. Besides, as a manager you may be concerned that these individuals could spread their "doom & gloom" outlook around to others on the team, making matters worse. Therefore, ignoring the negative person is not always the best strategy.

So, what can you do?

It's unlikely you can change a negative person's perspective. These individuals are skeptical by nature.

They tend to be distrustful of others and have low expectations, perhaps resulting from past disappointments.

Instead, your goals are: a) to make sure they contribute their fair share to the team effort; and b) to prevent them from discouraging and demoralizing others.

Here are a few tips on how you can do that.

COUNTER NEGATIVE COMMENTS WITH POSITIVE ONES

When an employee makes a negative comment, say something like, "I really believe we can accomplish this."

The contrast between the employee's comment and yours makes it clear to the group that they have a choice.

They can choose to be positive about the situation rather than negative.

ASSIGN THEM A MEANINGFUL ROLE

Sometimes you can turn a person's skepticism into an asset by assigning that person an informal role as the group's "devils advocate." While everyone else is touting a new idea or procedure, you can turn to this person and ask her to poke holes in it - just for the sake of discussion. But beware! Don't try this unless you truly want a balanced opinion. Otherwise, the skeptic will see right through your insincerity making them even more cynical.

This technique has worked for me many times. After all, who is more capable of uncovering potentially fatal flaws in any new idea than the one who looks at the drawbacks to every new initiative anyway. And when the skeptic can't find anything wrong with it, he is forced to say something

like, "Yeah, I guess it'll work okay."

KEEP YOUR INTERACTIONS BUSINESSLIKE

Resist the temptation to get all rah-rah around the negative person in the hopes that you can light a fire of enthusiasm. There's no spark there.

In fact, negative types reserve their deepest skepticism and distrust for people whom they perceive as overly positive and optimistic - the ones who put a "happy face"

on everything. To them, such people are unrealistic and untrustworthy. That doesn't mean you have to buy into their point of view; it simply means that you are likely to get a more favorable response from a negative person if you approach them in a pleasant, but no-nonsense, practical manner.

ACKNOWLEDGE THE EFFORT

Sometimes when people whine about taking on additional assignments or special request, all they really want is for someone to acknowledge the fact that they have been inconvenienced. This is easily done. For example:

"I know this is an inconvenience."

"I'm sorry about this. I know it's late in the day and you were probably looking forward to going home."

"I realize this isn't the best time. Unfortunately, it has to be done right away."

"Thank you for doing this."

While it might not prevent the negative person from whining, these statements of appreciation can go a long way toward breaking down any resistance to complying with your request.

These techniques can sometimes make it easier to deal with a negative person. And they certainly can minimize the effect these individuals have on other team members.

Nevertheless, keep in mind that negativity can be contagious and that, despite your best efforts, you might see a growing number of your employees who were once positive now "turning negative."

I have a great weekend ahead of myself. Hopefully I can get a little action to (smile). There is nothing like a good nut to send you off into a deep coma-like slumber. Sounds good doesnt it?

I am so glad to see the weekend come that I really dont even know what to do with myself. I have been staying up way too late this past week, so I am paying for it now. I really cant complain tho because its my own fault staying up half the night on the phone like some teenager. ~Sigh~

Any special plans this weekend for any of you or are you just chillin? What ever it is you are doing this weekend, I hope its all good.

THE BLIND HORSE

Which are you?

Just up the road from my home is field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. his owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray. When she returned to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure her friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, GOD does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who GOD places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping other see.

Good friends are like this......... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Quick Update On Me

Weight

Things with me are really going pretty well. Im still doing my thing with the gym although I do not always eat my best. I have lost about 30lbs and I am at that point where everyone can really tell. Not a day goes by that I do not get a compliment from someone about the weight loss. It really makes me feel good and like my hard work is paying off. If I could only leave these damn peanut M&Ms alone I would be doing GREAT!

Work

My job is going good to! I havent been hated on in a while. You know its really a damn shame when whether or not you are hated on is a determining factor of how well things on the job are going

Anyhoo, I have been there for about 8 months and things are coming along well. Im finally at the point where I can do my work on my own with out constant review and hateration. I have been getting really positive feedback on the work I turn in to, so that is definitely a plus. I just pray that things continue to go smoothly.

Social Life

My sister graduated this past weekend with her Masters, so I had a lot of family in town over the weekend. We really had a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my little nephew.

I have not talked to my ex. I briefly mentioned that we broke up but never went into a whole lot of detail. It was not a bad break up or anything like that. Its just that we were together for a very long time, longer than many of my friends have even been married and the wounds were too fresh. It was such a difficult decision to let him go, but it was one that I had to make. I just prayed about it before I made my final decision for us to part and went with what the Lord told me to do.

I still think about him but its been easier than I thought it would be being without him. Never in a million years did I ever imagine my life without him, but here I am doing just that. Things just didnt work out for us. There were so many yes, I will do better or I will make things better. But it just never happened. Or always saying he was sorry but never showing it. I held on for a long time to the memories of what we once shared but honestly those good days were gone a long time ago. I have no hard feelings towards him, as a matter of fact I truly wish him the best. It just wasnt meant to be for us

I have been spending a lot of time getting to know this new guy I met and things are really going well between us. For the first time in a VERY LONG time I feel happy and I love the way it feels. You know the type of feeling you hope will never end? Well that is how I feel. Its still kinda of early to tell how things will turn out but I got a good feeling about this one.

He came into my life at just the perfect time, although I did not think the timing was perfect when we first met. Its like cupids lil ass came around and shot me in my back. I struggled with trying to figure out whether I even wanted to take a chance with someone new. I wondered if this was just something I was doing because I was one the rebound, so I thought maybe I should just be by myself. But I prayed about that to and I remember that I woke up one morning and knew exactly what it was that I wanted and needed to do. What I wanted was to be with him and there is where I will stay for as long as the Lord allows...
